 The Insurance Professionals of Greater Orlando was originally chartered with NAIW in 1944 as the Insurance Women of Orlando/Winter Park. We are a local affiliate of the National Association of Insurance Women (International) formed in 1940 in Denver, Colorado. NAIW National headquarters is now located in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In 1996, the name of our association was changed to The Insurance Professionals of Greater Orlando to better reflect the membership of our organization and to encourage diversity. It was at this time that The Insurance Women of Central Florida joined forces with The Insurance Professionals of Greater Orlando to create one unified NAIW association in the central Florida area. Our association has been recognized as an active participant in the insurance community and has always actively encouraged continuing education in all insurance areas by offering courses on a regular basis. Our association currently has approximately 80 members and they have a varied level of experience in the industry ranging from 1-40 years.

Our professional development programs cover negotiation skills, selling techniques, mentoring, communication and industry specific programs ranging from policy coverages to policy exclusions and limitations often overlooked or misunderstood by both agents and risk management.
Industry Contacts: Networkings opportunities through local, state, regional and national activities provide you with an expanded circle of business contacts and knowledge. Member Resource and Agency Countersignature Referral Service. Have you ever needed coverage or licensing information for another state? NAIW International offers members the opportunity to share their expertise with other members and the industry.
Publications: Our association magazine, Today's Insurance Professionals, is mailed to all NAIW members, keeping them informed on major industry issues. Members also receive a newsletter, The Connections, and an e-newsletter, Inroads, providing information on association news and opportunities.
Global Communication: The NAIW website provides members with ready access to association and industry news and information. A job bank helps keep industry professionals employed in the industry during this time of mergers and acquistions.
NAIW's own Professional Designations: NAIW members have the opportunity to earn professional designations available only to NAIW members. Certified Professional Insurance Woman/Man (CPIW/M) and Diversified Advanced Education (DAE). Designations provide tangible evidence of educational achievement, industry commitment and assoication involvement.
Awards: Members may compete for a variety of awareds on the local, state, regional and national levels. Awards recognize industry excellence and achievement in areas of claims, public speaking, automation and assoication participation. |
